- The Melrose East Community
Association has hired extra duty police and private security guards to
make the neighborhood "as safe as any in Baton Rouge." Read the MECA letter.
- All prospective residents are screened against 3 nationwide criminal databases.
- Community rules are consistently enforced to ensure respect for all neighbors.
- Those who don't respect their neighbors are evicted or face lease termination.
- The complex is patrolled nightly by an armed security force,
- Nightly security reports are delivered the following day to our manager.
- Night vision video surveillance and recording is in effect in common areas 24X7.
- All common areas are well lit.
- A 7 foot tall security fence surrounds the property on three sides.
- Entry and exit are restricted to the front of the property.
- All persons entering the complex consent to search of their persons and vehicles.
- Residents may report suspicious or dangerous activity anonymously at any hour.
- Each apartment has a smoke detector.
- A fire extinguisher is provided with each apartment.
- An employee lives on site to handle night and weekend maintenance emergencies.
- Pets are not permitted on the property.
